David Kemp

Administrative Bishop

Bishop David and Sister Sonja Kemp began their ministry in Michigan in August 2025. They bring with them a wealth of experience, leadership, and a deep passion for serving the Church of God. Bishop Kemp previously served as a highly successful pastor in Fort Mill, South Carolina, before transitioning to the South Carolina State Office as the Evangelism and Ministries Director.
In 2018, the Kemps were appointed to the North Central Region (NCR), where Bishop Kemp served as Administrative Bishop and Sister Sonja led in Women’s Ministries. During their time in the NCR, they faithfully ministered to Church of God congregations across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana. In 2022, they accepted the call to Illinois to serve in the same roles of Administrative Bishop and Women's Ministry Director.
Most recently, on August 1, 2025, the Kemps arrived in Michigan to continue their service in these same roles—Bishop David Kemp as the State Administrative Bishop and Sister Sonja Kemp as the Women's Ministry Director. Their leadership reflects a deep commitment to leadership, mentorship, spiritual growth, community development, and kingdom impact.

Erich D. Lacks

Youth and Discipleship Director

Erich has been married to his wife, Emily, since June 18, 2005. Erich and Emily have two sons, Jeremiah and Raymond. They have been in full  time ministry since February 2008, having served as Student Pastor for nearly ten years and Lead Pastor for seven years in Tennessee and North Dakota. Prior to coming to Michigan, the Lacks served as the Youth and Discipleship Director and Girl's Ministry Coordinator  for the North Central Region (NCR).

Erich is passionate about seeing this generation (or generations Z and Alpha) experience the power of God, presence of God, call of God, and authentic revival.

Erich and Emily are deeply passionate to see the students and young adults of Michigan experience the power of God, answer the call of God, and for students to experience all God has for them. God's hand is on this generation!

Erich's  life verse is Zechariah 4:6, "“This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
 Says the LORD of hosts."

Ron and Robin Schubert

Bishop Ron and Robin Schubert have faithfully served the state of Michigan throughout the vast majority of their ministry. Beginning in youth ministry, they are now lead pastors of LifePointe Church of God in Belleville, Michigan—one of the state's vibrant and growing churches.
In addition to ministering alongside his wife, Robin, Bishop Ron Schubert has held multiple leadership roles within the Church of God in Michigan.  He was elected by his peers to serve on the Michigan Church of God State Council and in the fall of 2024, Pastor Ron was appointed and subsequently elected to serve as the Evangelism Director for the Church of God in Michigan.
In this role, Bishop Schubert, alongside the Evangelism Board, leads impactful ministries  such as Pastor Connect weekends, Resurgence, REACH Michigan, sports evangelism, and revival services across the state.
